The brief
The client chose this vampire bat from my own flash, drawn in an etching style.
The approach
Etching-style linework keeps the bat loose and textured, with fine hatching across the wing membranes and decorative details within the wings. Placed just below the knee, the open wingspan sits naturally across the shape of the leg.
